About CHRISTIANNE YACHT CHARTERS
CHRISTIANNE Yacht Charters (CYC) was incorporated more than 20 years ago as a live aboard cruising school and yacht delivery service. It has since evolved to focus more on blue water cruising and training sailors to take their own boat on long voyages. Trips from the east coast to Bermuda are now considered short routine voyages while the longer ones now cross major oceans. A circumnavigation has been completed and the boat is back in the US from Puerto Rico after the third Atlantic Ocean crossing. Yacht deliveries anywhere in the world are another facet of the organization. If the owner just lacks confidence and would like to travel along for the experience this is easily arranged.
Jack Loda is a retired professional and licensed Coast Guard Master with over 60,000 offshore miles as captain. He has taught day and overnight coastal plus advanced cruising for NY Sailing School and individual charters and classes. Jack is a frequent lecturer at yacht clubs and community organizations. Topics usually include offshore voyaging, boat preparation, and environmental concerns. He was featured in Yachting World Magazine, covering a sailing trip to Europe and back. Two videotapes are currently in progress, Offshore Boat Preparation and Voyaging to Bermuda.
Summer sailing activities usually include trips to Bermuda because they involve sailing through a major harbor, crossing the Gulf Stream, completing a true ocean passage, and making landfall on one of the nicest islands on earth. Jack has taken sailors of various skill levels on ten Bermuda trips, also NY to the Azores and Azores to Spain. The 21-day return trip from the Canary Islands to the Bahamas completed the Atlantic circle, and was the longest leg. Everyone survived and are still friends. Other sailors were taken across the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
The vessel, CHRISTIANNE, a Jeanneau 52' Sun Fast, which is the largest of Jeanneau’s Ocean Racing Series, is the training vessel. The boat boasts inner and outer furling forestay, rod rigging, fully battened main, a 6' steering wheel and winches to match. All lines are led back to the cockpit for safety offshore and she has been further equipped with RADAR, SSB Radio, Monitor Wind Vane, Viking Life Raft etc. While she is an ocean racer on the outside, the interior is set up for comfortable cruising with refrigeration, large settee, nav. station, two heads and even granite counter tops. This is the owner’s version, not a cramped charter boat. Definitely a fast but comfortable cruising boat. We will also have a satellite phone aboard so calls from anywhere or to anywhere can be made providing constant communication.
Presently Jack is chartering along the SE Coast from Hilton Head Island SC with trips for all skill levels. If you are looking for a relaxing week this is the yacht and captain for you.
