On Tuesday March 28,2000 Jack left New York bound for New Zealand to return to the voyage that will eventually circle the globe. Refitting and preparation of the boat will take most of the month of April. So far - purchase of a new spinnaker (Big Yellow washed overboard one dark stormy night between American Samoa and Tonga) and new bearings and pitch adjustment for the folding propeller. Visiting with friends Vanessa Stoddart and Nick and Gillian Nicholson is a must while in Auckland. New Zealand is a very friendly place hence many mates to catch up. Then down to Tauranga (3hrs drive) to see how CHRISTIANNE has fared on the hard. Elizabeth will spend two weeks in New Zealand at the end of April to do some sightseeing and provision for the voyage to the Mediterranean. Crewing along with Jack will be Morag and Paul from Scotland. They have bicycled around New Zealand and are looking forward to a sea experience. Stay tuned as the adventure continues...
