Left Hilton Head, S.C. bound for Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Heavy winds necessitated destination change to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Arrived San Juan at 4 PM on February 22. Caught 25 lb dorado. Two dinners, one lunch.

Two breakdowns:

1. Crack in cockpit drain below waterline - inside transom of boat. Filled bilge and clogged automatic bilge pump. Pumped bilge every two hours with manual whale pump. Repaired with rubber inner tube and three hose clamps.
2. Paddle fell off monitor steering wind vane when the welds failed. Repaired using hack saw and vice grips.

These repairs are temporary. Permanent repairs will be done when port is reached.
